March marks the start of spring training for baseball and the begining of our Florida spring (and hopefully warmer temps!) and the end of our "snowbird" season. I want thank all of our visitors for their support this season. Florida's weather wasn't too good this winter with all those cold mornings, but many of our golfers still prevailed.
This month brings our St. Patrick's Dinner and dance on Saturday, March 13th with corned beef and cabbage. our second Lobster & Steak Fest will be held on Sunday, March 28th. We had a great meal last year and we're anticipating the same again this year. The Fest is a presale only dinner - no tickets will be sold at the door.
Congratulations to Al LaPergola for winning the King of Diamonds drawing last month. A new game has started, so remember to get your tickets every week.
Monday and Friday night dinners are really doing well. Come and eat and stay to dance to our great enetertainment.
Coming up April 10th is the Ball Drop Tournament (4 man scramble). Get your team application in as soon as possible - this is another event that usually sells out!
Have a great month,    God Bless our Troops and God Bless America

We are still in need of a Penny Bingo co-chair. Cheri Fickies is doing a great job and has been working on a detailed instruction manual so you need not worry that you won't know what to do. Cheri is a snowbird and won't be here to run bingo this summer. Please contact me if you can help with this event. Remember, proceeds from this activity go towrd our Girls State program and our monthly rent to the Post.

VA News                                     Service Officer David Donohew
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in a January 2010 Compensation and Pension (C&P) Service Bulletin, announced a new initiative to collect data on Vietnam Naval Operations for the purpose of providing regional offices with information to assist with development in Haas related disability claims based on herbicide expoure from Navy Veterans. To date, they have compiled verification from various sources showing that a number of offshore "Blue water" naval vessels conducted operations on the inland "brown water" rivers and delta areas of Vietnam and docked on the shores to frop off supplies, etc..., For a list of ships that have already been identified, call your service officer at 941.681.3716.
